Teleport Settings
This example illustrates how to configure the Teleport settings for dynamic URL redirection based on QR or NFC tag metadata. For instance, if a user scans a tag associated with Table 27, they can be redirected to a URL that includes this specific table as a parameter.
Configuring Teleport with Dynamic URL Redirection:
-
Enable Teleport: Ensure the Teleport feature is activated.
-
URL Setup: If the base URL for redirection is "example.com," and you want to direct users based on their table number, you would set the URL in the Teleport settings as follows:
- URL:
https://example.com
- URL:
When a user scans a tag at Table 27, the URL they are redirected to would dynamically include this information as a query parameter:
- Resulting URL:
https://example.com?Table=27
How It Works:
- The system detects the metadata "Table=27" from the QR or NFC tag.
- It appends this metadata as a query parameter to the base URL specified in the Teleport settings.
- The user is then redirected to the URL that now contains information specific to their interaction, enhancing their experience and providing context-specific content.
- This allows VenueRun tags to be used for a variety of purposes, such as table ordering, event check-ins, or location-based promotions on other applications.
This setup allows for a versatile use of the Teleport feature, adapting the redirection process to meet specific operational needs or customer interactions.
